Bell Island is rich with history and great people not to mention amazing scenery. Come experience Bell Island, Newfoundland like never before. Ride an ATV following an experienced local ATV guide. You will ride along coastline and wooded trails 200ft above sea level. Visit historic sites as well see some breath taking views of Newfoundland scenery and wildlife; rabbits, eagles, hawks, icebergs, and much more.
If you choose the 4 hour tour you will have the opportunity to stop and visit the newly opened Lightkeepers Cafe (30 minute break). The food is delicious and you will enjoy the wonderful service from the friendly Bell Island staff. On the 2 hour tour you can stop after the tour at the famous Dicks Fish and Chips(located next to ferry terminal) you certainly will enjoy the food and service at this restaurant as well.
Bell Island also has cabins to rent, beautiful B and B's, a Grand Old Inn with many rooms as well plenty of woods to set up camp. So stay a night and do the famous Mine Tour in the am and maybe have a delicious breakfast at the Cafe directly next to the ferry!!
No ATV experience necessary to rent the ATVs and you are welcome to bring a friend! View sites that are not accessible by vehicle and that could take hours to travel on foot.
Bell Island is approximately a 20 minute drive from Newfoundland’s capital city St. John’ and a 20 minute ferry ride from Portugal Cove. It is home to many historic sites and was one of the world’s largest Submarine Mining Operations. It also saw enemy action during Second World War so come visit your adventure is waiting!
